Betting 2019 MLB Futures

There are various ways that people bet MLB futures. Some people will focus on putting some cash down on their favorite team or teams, no matter what the odds are, while others may focus on wagering on the favorites. Still, others put some cash down only on long shots. After all, of you bet $100 on the Orioles at +35000, you’d win 350 x $100 plus your $100 wager or $35,100. That’s a pretty good return. Of course, the problem with the bet is your chances of seeing a profit are, as you can tell by the implied probability of 0.28%.

Here’s one way to bet futures and give yourself of winning some cash. It involves hedging your bets. This involves:

  1. Dividing your futures bankroll into equal units that total 20 (as an example, if you have a $1000 bankroll, each unit would be worth $50)
  2. Choosing four to five teams to bet on
  3. Making sure two of the teams possess double-digit implied probably, two single-digit, and one team an implied probability of under 2.00%.
  4. Then place you cash on each team, making sure that if any of the teams win the big series, you’ll make a profit

Making Cash on MLB World Series Futures

If we choose the Red Sox (+650), the Dodgers (+800) as our top-level clubs, the Cubs (+1000) and Phillies (+2000) as our single-digit teams, and Diamondbacks (+6000) are our lower-tier baseball team. You then place more units on the teams that are most likely to win and fewer on those less and least likely to win. Here’s how to then divide up your betting units using this method.

  1. Red Sox (+650) $350 (7 units) = $2,625 – $650 lost = $1,975 profit
  2. Dodgers (+800) $300 (6 units) = $2,700 – $700 lost = $2,000 profit
  3. Cubs (+1000) $200 (4 Units) = $2,200 – $800 lost = $1,400 profit
  4. Phillies (+2000) $100 (2 units) = $2,100 – $900 lost = $1,200 profit
  5. Diamondbacks (+6000) $50 (1 unit) = $3,050 – $950 lost = $2,100 profit

By betting 2019 MLB futures in this manner, you give yourself a much better chance of making a profit rather than simply making a long-shot ot even a fairly sure bet.
