The college football bowl season has already gotten off to a great start, but some of the top games have yet to be played. On Friday night it will be the Missouri Tigers taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.
Missouri came out of nowhere to have a huge season in the SEC as they are coming into this game with a record of 10-2. The Tigers were able to compete with every team on their schedule, and this is going to be another opportunity in this matchup.
The Ohio State Buckeyes were one win away from reaching the College Football Playoffs yet again, but they just couldn’t get it done. Ohio State is going to be trying to bounce back after a loss to Michigan, but they are missing some talented pieces.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are slim 3.5-point betting favorites over the Missouri Tigers in the Cotton Bowl Classic.
Tigers Rolling on Offense
The Missouri Tigers are averaging 34.1 points per game on offense this season, and they have so much talent to attack opposing teams. Missouri has thrown for 273 yards this season, and they are also averaging 170 rushing yards per game.
Quarterback Brady Cook has thrown for 3,189 yards and 20 touchdowns this season and he was a superstar. Running back Cody Schrader had a huge season as well as he racked up 1,489 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.
There are still some major concerns for Missouri on defense, but they are catching a big break in this game. Missouri just can’t allow a ton of big plays if they want to win this game.
Buckeyes Want to Get Stops
The Ohio State Buckeyes were solid on both sides of the ball in this game, but defense will be a major focus in this game. Ohio State can’t afford for this game to turn into a shootout as they are missing some key offensive players.
Quarterback Kyle McCord has announced his decision to transfer, and that will leave Ohio State with a backup in at that position. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. might suit up in this game, and that would be a huge boost.
Ohio State had a huge season on offense during the regular season, but it will be hard to duplicate that performance without some of their biggest stars.
Tigers Take Cotton Bowl Classic
The Ohio State Buckeyes are clearly the more talented team in this one, but that’s not all that goes into a bowl game. Ohio State won’t be very motivated for this matchup, and they are also going to be playing without several key stars.
Missouri has something to prove in this game, and the top offensive stars for the team are going to be suiting up. The Tigers are going to be on the attack in this game and that will make them extremely dangerous.
Bet on the upset in this game as Missouri will get the job done in the Cotton Bowl Classic.
