Texas Longhorns at Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview – Week 2 of College Football

A pair of Top 10 teams in College Football will get together on Saturday. This is part of Week Two of the season. The Texas Longhorns will visit the Big House in Ann Arbor Michigan to take on the Wolverines. Both teams come into the game 1-0 after easy wins in Week One.

The Texas Longhorns blanked the Colorado State Rams 52-0. Texas is coming off a big season a year ago, where they reached the College Football Playoff, but fell to Washington in New Orleans. The Longhorns are now part of the SEC, after leaving the Big 12.

For Michigan, they are the defending national champions after beating Washington in the title game last season. Jim Harbaugh then left Michigan to take the job with the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, Sherrone Moore is the head coach. Michigan beat Fresno State 30-10 last week.

The Texas Longhorns are favorites in this game. Despite being on the road, the Longhorns come into the game -7 over Michigan. The total for the affair sits at 44.5.

Home Underdogs is Rare for Michigan

Davis Warren is under center for Michigan. He takes over for JJ McCarthy, who was drafted by the Vikings. Warren  tossed for 118 yards and a score last week. His top target was tight end Colston Loveland, who finished the game with 87 yards and the score.

Kalel Mullings was the better of the running backs last week. Donovan Edwards was pretty ineffective. Mullings had 92 yards, while Edwards had 27 on 11 carries. The Wolverines will need some help from the receiving core, as Tyler Morris, Kendrick Bell and Semaj Morgan combined for just 34 yards in the game.

The Wolverines will host Arkansas State next week. In Week Four, Michigan will play their first Big Ten game of the season. Michigan will host USC on September 21st.

Road Longhorns on a Mission

The Longhorns picked up 355 passing yards in the win. Quinn Ewers played most of the game, and came away with 260 yards and 3 touchdowns. His top targets were Mathew Golden, Ryan Wingo, Isaiah Bond and Johntay Cook. Golden caught three passes; two for touchdowns. Bond caught the other.

The run game was anchored by Jerrick Gibson and Jaydon Blue. Gibson scored a touchdown, while Blue led the team with 11 carries. Texas saw nine guys get a carry in the game, including backup quarterback Arch Manning, with three.

The Longhorns will head home after this game, and will not play a road game again until the end of October at Vanderbilt. Texas has UTSA, UL Monroe, Mississippi State, Oklahoma and Georgia all coming to town.

Texas wins on the Road

The Texas Longhorns are going to go on the road and win this game. Michigan lost a ton of talent from last season, and not sure they have found the pieces to rebuild as strong as they were last season, yet. Texas is going to use their combination of dominant run game, with the ability to throw the ball, and score enough on Michigan, where the Wolverines cannot keep up. Our final score prediction is the Texas Longhorns 28-17 over the Michigan Wolverines. Enjoy the game!
