MLB Sunday June 26th Red Sox at Guardians Betting Preview
Boston Looking for the Road Sweep
Boston has gone18-4 in June, almost out of necessity as they try at least stay in the hunt with the red hot Yankees, who still have a whopping 11 game lead in the AL East. Either way the Red Sox’ turnaround has been impressive as after starting 10-19 they are 31-12, have scored 5.76 runs/game, and have an .815 OPS which are both tops in the majors over that span.
Cleveland had been playing well also as these two teams wrap up a three game set in the June 26th Red Sox at Guardians betting preview. Boston’s 6-3 and 4-2 wins to start the weekend meant that Cleveland would not win an 8th straight series. The Guardians are 15-7 this month though and are just a game back from the Twins in the AL Central.
Boston Goes for 7 Straight
The Red Sox’ current six game win streak is the longest active stretch in the majors, and Boston has actually been able to pick up a couple on New York who has lost two straight to the Yankees.
Saturday’s win was the first time Boston didn’t score at least 5 runs during their streak, but it was a victory nonetheless. Rafael Devers, Christian Arroyo, and Alex Verdugo have all gone deep so far this weekend, with Arroyo going 3-5 from the #9 spot on Friday night. Jarren Duran followed that up with a 4-5 day from the leadoff spot on Saturday so this is proving to be a potent Boston lineup top to bottom.
Boston pitching has held Cleveland to just 5 runs through the first two games of this series, something Rich Hill (3-4, 4.35 ERA) would like to continue as he starts the June 26th Red Sox at Guardians betting showdown. The Red Sox have won 6 of his last 10 starts and he’s allowed 2 ER or less in 4 of his last 6.
Guardians Try to Salvage One
Cleveland has had a nice turnaround, briefly climbing into first place in the AL Central after taking 2 of 3 from the Twins for their seventh straight series win. Now the Guardians goal is to try and avoid the sweep while also get their offense going.
The Guardians matched Boston with 12 hits on Friday, but just couldn’t get the big one besides an Andrew Gimenez HR in the 6-3 loss as +104 underdogs. Cleveland was -164 with Shane Bieber on the mound Saturday and he went a solid 7.0 IP allowing 3 runs, but there was no offense in the 4-2 defeat.
Aaron Civale (2-3, 7.25 ERA) will try to be the stopper on Sunday and he’s allowed just 2 ER over his last two starts (11.1 IP). The problem is the 22 ER over his previous four outings (17.1 IP) and now facing a red hot offense.
Free June 26th Red Sox at Guardians Betting Pick
This looks like an easy play on Boston, but the Red Sox have already wrapped up the series and are looking ahead to road trips to AL East rival Toronto as well as Wrigley Field and the Cubs over the coming week. The line of -106 (CLE -110) is not saying Boston is on a 6-game win streak, so the play has to be the Guardians to get one here.
Free Pick: Cleveland -110
