The Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals are set to get together on Monday for the first of a three game series. Busch Stadium in St. Louis will be the home of the rematch of the 2011 World Series. The Texas Rangers come into the game with a 51-55 record on the season. The defending World Series Champions are coming off three straight losses on the road at Toronto. The Rangers are 5-5 in their last 10 games.
For the St. Louis Cardinals, they are 54-51 on the season. St. Louis is second place in the National League Central, but six games behind the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals are coming off a walkoff win over Washington on Sunday.

Struggling Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers had a tough weekend in Toronto, as they were outscored 20-11 by the last place Blue Jays. Texas lost some ground in the standings to both the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners. On the season, the Rangers are 16th in Major League Baseball, as they are scoring 4.3 runs per game.

The Rangers will head back home starting Friday for a series against the Boston Red Sox. After that, the Houston Astros will come to town in a massive American League West showdown.

After allowing 24 runs in the first two games to Washington, the Cardinals needed late runs, but were able to salvage a win at home. The Cardinals used a Paul Goldschmidt home run in the bottom of the 9th to win the game. The home run for the first base man was his 15th of the season. Nolan Gorman leads the Cardinals with 19.
The St. Louis offense is getting ,285 batting average from Masyn Winn, while Alec Burleson is hitting .287. The Cardinals as a team are hitting .245. St. Louis has clubbed 107 homeruns on the season as well.
The Cardinals will head out on the road following this series. They will play four games in Chicago against the Cubs. After that, St. Louis will come back home and host the Mets for a single game, and Tampa Bay for three.
