Overview
The Seattle Seahawks head out to FedEx Field in Washington for their big Monday Night Football meeting with the Redskins. Last season the Seahawks won their meeting with the Redskins 24-14 but Washington won the last two games before that although these days it’s hard to judge a team off what they did just one season ago let alone 4 of 5 seasons ago.
Head to Head Trends
Favorite is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
Seattle Seahawks (-7.5)
The Seattle Seahawks are 2nd in the NFC West with a 2-1 record although with a week off last week they are a game behind the rest of the division. The Seahawks looked quite impressive in their season opener beating the Packers by 20 points but they lost their next game in San Diego to the Chargers who are looking like the best team in the AFC right now so maybe not a huge loss and they then bounced back to beat the Broncos in week 3. The Seahawks are middle of the road in yards with 356 per game but they are 5th in points per game with 27.7 which is pretty good considering they’ve had the toughest schedule of any team so far. Their defense is also looking pretty good allowing 321 yards and 22 points per game which may seem a bit high for a top defense but again they have played 3 very good offenses so far.
Seattle Seahawks Trends
Seahawks are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 Monday games.
Seahawks are 37-16-1 ATS in their last 54 games overall.
Washington Redskins (+7.5)
The Washington Redskins are 4th in the NFC East with a 1-3 record. The Redskins have looked pretty bad so far this season and I don’t see that turning around anytime soon with Seattle tonight and at Arizona next week 1-5 is looking probable. In the Redskins 4 games so far they have only beaten the Jackson Jaguars who are by far the worst team in football and last week they got crushed 45-14 at home on Thursday night football so maybe they’ll do what New England did this week after getting crushed last week although I kind of doubt that.
Washington Redskins Trends
Redskins are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a SU loss of more than 14 points.
Redskins are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 vs. NFC.
Conclusion
I see the Seattle Seahawks winning tonight but 7.5 on the road is more points that I care to give so I’m going with the total and over 45.5 points. The Redskins are allowing 27 points per game on defense and 2 of their games were against Houston and Jacksonville neither of whom are exactly offensive power houses so I see Seattle putting up a few points tonight. The question is can the Redskins put up enough points and I think they can I see this game ending up something like 34-17 for Seattle.
