Golden State and Phoenix seemed on a collision course for one of the best Western Conference Finals in recent memory, but the Suns couldn’t hold up their end of the bargain being eliminated in 7 games by the Mavericks. The Warriors of course went on to take care of Dallas and then the Celtics to capture their fourth title in the last eight seasons.
Both teams have started off 2-1 heading into the October 25th Warriors at Suns betting matchup. Golden State is scoring a ton, but also giving up a lot of points too. Phoenix meanwhile is winning more low scoring games so this is a conflict of styles on Tuesday night where Phoenix is a slight -1.5 favorite.
Golden State on the Road for First Time
The Warriors are off to a 2-1 start with a three game home stand to start the season. They have taken care of the Lakers in the season opener 123-109 to cover the -7.5 number, then lost to Denver outright 128-123 and most recently barely got by Sacramento 130-125 failing to cover the -10 number.
It’s obvious by the scores of their first three games of the season that the Warriors’ offense is locked in as their 125.3 ppg leads the NBA through the first week. There are some concerns with Golden State’s 120.7 ppg allowed but that’s what happens when you run the fastest pace in the league.
Steph Curry is on fire early with 33+ points in all three games heading into the October 25th Warriors at Suns betting matchup. Curry was held to just 22.7 ppg in three games vs. the Suns last season and Phoenix has started off playing solid defense again this year allowing just 104.3 ppg.
Phoenix Off to a Good Start
The Suns led the NBA with 64 wins last season which included a 32-9 mark both at home and on the road. Phoenix has protected their home court so far this season in a 107-105 revenge win over Dallas in the season opener, and have split two games on the road falling 113-111 in OT at Portland and then taking down the Clippers 112-95 on Sunday.
Even though they had the best record in the West last season, Phoenix is still targeting Golden State as they are the defending world champions. These two teams split their four game series last year with each going 1-1 on the other’s home court.
Like Curry, Devin Booker has come out of the gate hot, putting up 32.0 ppg and having 35 on Sunday against the Clippers. Chris Paul’s scoring struggles from last postseason have continued early in 2022/23 – but he is having a lower usage rate and has dished out 23 assists the last two games.
Free October 25th Warriors at Suns Betting Pick
Golden State is an underdog for the first time this season and there’s always some value on getting the Warriors and points. 56% of the betting public is taking Golden State, but they’re also playing their first road game of the season and the Suns have been playing lockdown defense so far this year – while the Warriors have not.
Pick: Suns -1.5
