It’s always nice to be back on your home court, but Boston probably wouldn’t have minded a few extra road tilts following their recent 4-0 stretch away from TD Garden. Then again, it doesn’t matter where the C’s play lately, as they have won 20 of their last 23 heading into Wednesday’s Jazz vs. Celtics betting matchup.
Utah had a stretch where they alternated wins and losses over an 8-game span, but thought they had put their inconsistencies behind them with three victories in a row. That streak was snapped in Monday’s 114-106 loss to the Nets, but we will see if that means they are due for a win.
Mitchell Rolling for Utah
Donovan Mitchell is likely going to get his on Wednesday night for Utah, but will it be enough? The Jazz guard is on a nice little heater with three straight games over 30+ points, but even with Mike Conley scoring 18 and Jordan Clarkson having 19 off the bench Utah still lost by 8 points to the Nets on Monday.
The Jazz remain a bit shorthanded with Bojan Bogdanovic missing the last five games with a calf injury and Danuel House out with a bad knee. Bogdanovic’s absence is especially devastating as he had been averaging 27.2 ppg before getting hurt.
Boston a Tough Out Right Now
It doesn’t seem that long ago that it looked like Boston would at the very least be admonished to the play-in tournament with an outside chance of missing the postseason altogether. Now after the team has gotten healthy and comfortable with some new faces (including coach Ime Udoka) the Celtics have done a complete 180 and are now in the #4 seed, just 2.5 back from Miami with 9 to play.
Mitchell is going to put up some points for Utah in this Jazz vs Celtics betting matchup, but Boston has plenty of firepower to counter. The duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown look postseason ready as they both have scored 25+ points during the C’s current 4-game win streak. The Celtics haven’t just beaten teams during their recent run, they’ve demoralized them with 20+ point wins at the Warriors, at the Kings, and at the Nuggets and a 9-point win in OKC on the back to back.
Jazz vs Celtics Betting Information
Boston is a -5 point favorite on Wednesday night, a number that seems low considering the Celtics recent domination of opponents in road games. Boston has covered the number in 7 of their last 10 overall, while Utah is just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games. Interestingly enough a slight 51% of the public like the Jazz plus the points here.
Jazz vs Celtics Betting Pick
It’s hard to go against Boston in this spot, as they’re back at home and getting some reinforcements after Marcus Smart and Robert Williams sat out Monday’s tilt but are upgraded to probable vs. Utah. Big man Rudy Gobert is always an x-factor risk, but he has just 13 total rebounds his last two games and Boston’s interior defense just held MVP candidate Nikola Jokic to a manageable 23 points and 8 rebounds on Sunday.
