Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Game 6 Betting Preview
Game 6 of the Western Conference Playoff Series between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves is set for Thursday night. Denver has now taken a 3-2 series lead and they are looking to finish off the series in this matchup.
The Nuggets are looking to win their second straight NBA Championship, and they are playing well enough to get that done. After falling behind 0-2 in this series, the Denver Nuggets were able to respond by winning three straight games.
Minnesota will be trying to extend the series with a win in Game 6, and playing on their home floor should help. The Timberwolves are 0-2 at home so far in this series, and that is something to keep in mind for this matchup.
The betting lines have the Minnesota Timberwolves as 2.5-point betting favorites in this matchup.
Defense, Joker Leading Nuggets
After struggling in the first two games of this series, Denver went back to becoming a great defensive team. Denver has been extremely physical with the Timberwolves, and they are making it nearly impossible for them to score in the paint.
On the offensive end of the floor, Denver has gotten back to letting Nikola Jokic take control of the action. Jokic just put up 40 points in the Game 5 win, and he has also been setting up his teammates for easy scores.
Aaron Gordon has also been playing some great basketball in this series, and his play has the Nuggets on the verge of moving on. Denver now has a ton of momentum on both ends of the floor, and that will matter in this game.
Minnesota Must Make Shots
The Minnesota Timberwolves have struggled mightily on the offensive end of the floor in recent games, and that has created a serious issue. Anthony Edwards had been playing well, but he couldn’t find any offense in the Game 5 loss.
Minnesota has scored 107 points in all five games in this series, and the Timberwolves will need to shoot the ball well in this matchup. The Timberwolves aren’t getting much from Karl-Anthony Towns either as he has become frustrated by the defense of Denver.
Look for the Timberwolves to try to win this game on defense, but at some point they will need to make some clutch shots.
Denver Delivers Knockout Punch
The Minnesota Timberwolves had the Nuggets on the ropes early in this series, but things got away from them in a big hurry. Minnesota will get a boost by playing this game on their home floor, but it’s not going to make a huge difference.
Nikola Jokic has been on a massive tear over the last two games, and he is going to take control on the offensive end of the floor yet again. Minnesota just doesn’t have a way to stop the MVP, and Denver has also been getting a ton of stops.
Bet the Denver Nuggets moneyline in this game as they are going to go on the road and finish off this series in dominant fashion.
