Las Vegas Aces vs. Atlanta Dream Betting Preview

The start of the 2024 WNBA season has been fun to follow to begin the year, but that action is only going to continue to get better moving forward. On Friday night, the Las Vegas Aces are visiting the Atlanta Dream, and this has the potential to be a battle.

Las Vegas comes into this game with an overall record of 4-1, and the Aces are looking like one of the best teams in the league yet again. The Aces just blew out the Indiana Fever in their most recent game, and that will give them some momentum.

Atlanta is a team that is trying to get to the next level in the league, but they still have some work to do. The Dream are currently sitting at 3-2 on the year, but they have had some interesting results this season.

The Las Vegas Aces are 8.5-point betting favorites in this game, and the over/under line is set at 169.5 total points.

Las Vegas Looking to Score

The Las Vegas Aces are averaging 89 points per game this season, and they are always looking to push the tempo on offense this season. Center A’Ja Wilson is averaging 26.2 points per game this season, and she has been setting the tone.

While Las Vegas has been one of the best offensive teams in the league, they have also struggled to get some stops. The Aces are giving up 81.2 points per game, and that is something that will have to get better throughout the year.

Playing on the road will be a challenge for the Aces, but they have proven that they can win games anywhere.

Dream Searching For Defense

The Atlanta Dream would prefer winning games with their offense as well, but they are not nearly as explosive as Las Vegas. Atlanta is scoring just 82 points per game, and they will have to set the tone on defense in order to win this game.

Winning games with defense hasn’t worked for Atlanta so far this season though as they are allowing over 81 points per game. Atlanta wants to try to speed up the tempo to stay in this matchup, but that’s just not a good strategy against Las Vegas.

Guard Rhyne Howard is averaging 19 points per game to set the tone for Atlanta, and she will need to be great in order to win this matchup.

Dream Battle in Loss

This is a matchup of two teams that love to get up and down the floor, and that should lead to plenty of excitement. Las Vegas clearly has more superstars on their roster, and at some point they are going to find a way to pull away.

The Dream are going to get a nice boost from the home crowd in this game, and that should allow their defense to get some clutch stops throughout the day. Atlanta just hasn’t proven that they can be consistent enough to win games, and that will be the case in this matchup.

Taking the 8.5 points and backing the Atlanta Dream is the way to go, but it will be the Las Vegas Aces that move to 5-1 with a big win.
