The New York Jets (2-5, 0-4 away) and Indianapolis Colts (3-5, 1-3 home) kickoff Week 9 of NFL action with a Thursday night AFC showdown. New York is searching for their first road win of the season while the Colts try and bounce back after an overtime loss against the Titans.
Thursday’s action kicks off at 8:20 p.m. EST inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN. The Colts are a 10.5-point favorite and the over-under total is at 46 points.
What to Know – New York Jets
New York rolls into Indy after upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, 34-31. The victory was the Jets’ second of the season and matched their win total from last year. Making his first NFL start, backup quarterback Mike White carried the Jets with 405 yards passing and three touchdowns.
White’s performance was one for the record books, setting the NFL mark for completions in a first start (37) and the first player in league history to throw for over 300 yards and complete at least 75% of his passes.
Running back Michael Carter has become the focal point of the Jets offense and it’s paying off. In Sunday’s victory, Carter put together his best game of the season, rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown and adding 95 yards receiving.
The Jets are 2-6 against the spread over their last eight games and 2-5 this season. New York is 8-4 ATS in their last 12 contests against Indianapolis.
What to Know – Indianapolis Colts
The Colts had the Titans on the ropes, but a costly turnover late in overtime was ultimately too much to overcome for Indy. Indianapolis last hosted a prime-time game in 2017, so the appearance is long overdue for the Colts.
Carson Wentz attempted 51 passes on Sunday, completing 27 of them for just 231 yards with three touchdowns and a pair of turnovers. The pair of interceptions was just his second and third of the season, but that last one thrown in their own territory led to an easy game-winning field goal for the Titans.
Second-year running back Jonathan Taylor is having an excellent sophomore season. Taylor has rushed for 649 yards and five touchdowns and is second on the team in receiving, hauling in 21 passes for 265 yards and one score.
Indianapolis is 4-1 ATS over their last five games, and the over has hit in four of those five. The Colts are 2-7 ATS in recent games at Lucas Oil Stadium.

New York’s win Sunday brings some intrigue to a matchup that on paper looks like your typical Thursday night bout. The Colts desperately need a win to stay within an earshot of Tennessee in the AFC South, and the Jets could win their second-straight and top their win total from last season.
