The side portion of the week 8 Sunday wrap up doesn’t look to be all that interesting on paper. Buffalo is expected to run away with the game as -10.5 favorites over the struggling Packers who have dropped three in a row.
This game still has a star-studded cast of characters which means plenty of opportunities in the week 8 SNF prop bets department. The O/U is 46.5 so there should be some points put up here. Let’s check out the specials:
Isaiah McKenzie Under 30.5 receiving yards
In the past three games Isaiah McKenzie has a long of 8, 5, and a DNP. McKenzie has been held under 30.5 yards in three of the five games he’s played in this season. Green Bay is more vulnerable against the run (27th) than the pass (2nd) and when the Bills do throw Stefon Diggs gets the majority of the looks with 11+ targets in four of the last five.
Romeo Doubs Under 3.5 Receptions
Aaron Rodgers said this week that “guys who continue to make mistakes should have their reps cut” and although he didn’t clarify who he meant, Romeo Doubs had 4 targets last week and failed to make a catch. Doubs struggles aren’t the only reason to go against him here, as the Bills defense gives up just 12 rec/game total to WRs which is 4th fewest in the NFL.
Sammy Watkins Over 39.5 Receiving Yards
We’ve got the “revenge” narrative of Sammy Watkins going back to Buffalo where he spent the first three seasons of his career, but also a second straight game playing with Rodgers. Watkins missed four games with a hamstring injury, but had 93 yards receiving before going out. He returned vs. Washington and had just 2 catches – but for 36 yards. Watkins should be more comfortable and connected with Rodgers in a second straight game being active. Allen Lazard (shoulder) and Randall Cobb (ankle) are both also out for Green Bay.
Stefon Diggs Over 6.5 Receptions
Stefon Diggs has gone ‘over’ 6.5 receptions in five of six games this season and is getting the looks with 24 targets the last two Buffalo games. The Packers have been pretty solid in holding opposing WRs to a total of 10.7 receptions/game, but Diggs kind of transcends matchups with his role in the Bills offense.
Aaron Jones Under 48.5 Rush Yards
Aaron Jones has been held to 42 rush yards total over the last two games and on just a combined 17 carries. It would be easy to see Green Bay abandon the run game early if they fall into a big hole against the potent Buffalo offense, and Matt Lafleur also likely wants to get AJ Dillon some more touches after he had just 4 carries last week. Buffalo has the #1 rush defense in the league giving up just 76.2 yards/game.
Robert Tonyan Over 26.5 Receiving Yards
Green Bay is down a couple big targets in Lazard and Cobb which could open up more opportunities for Robert Tonyan in the passing game. When you consider Von Miller bringing the heat with the Buffalo pass rush it’s likely Green Bay opts to go with intermediate length passes so Rodgers doesn’t take too big of a beating.
