Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers Prediction – Divisional Round
The NFL Playoffs will continue throughout the weekend as the field of contenders will shrink from eight teams down to four. On Saturday night it will be the Green Bay Packers visiting the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round.
Green Bay was able to sneak into the postseason as the number seven seed in the NFC after finishing the year at 9-8. The Packers picked up a massive 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys in order to get them into this game.
San Francisco comes into this game well rested after earning the top overall seed in the NFC. The 49ers finished the regular season with a record of 12-5, and they are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl this season.
San Francisco is coming into this game as a 9.5-point betting favorite over Green Bay in one of the biggest spreads of the weekend.
Love Leading Packers Charge
Packers quarterback Jordan Love quietly put together a terrific regular season, and he saved his best game of the year for the playoffs. Love threw for over 4,100 yards during the regular season, and he was nearly perfect in the win over the Cowboys.
Getting healthy has also been a huge key for the Packers as that has allowed them to run the ball more effectively. Running back Aaron Jones had three touchdowns in the Wild Card Round, and he will be a massive key in this one.
The defense for Green Bay still has to prove that it can contend with the best teams in the league, but they were up to the task against Dallas.
49ers Want to Play Physical
The San Francisco 49ers want to run the football on offense, and then take control of things on the defensive side of the football. San Francisco held opponents to just 17.5 points per game this season, and they are going to be coming after Jordan Love.
The Niners averaged over 140 rushing yards per game this season, and Christian McCaffrey is one of the best players in football. San Francisco will try to establish the run early in this game in an effort to set the tone.
Quarterback Brock Purdy had a terrific regular season as well, throwing for over 4,280 yards. Green Bay will blitz a lot, and Purdy will need to make good decisions with the football.
San Francisco Rolls to Blowout Win
The Packers have been on a remarkable run over the last few weeks, but eventually they are going to run out of magic. Green Bay has the ability to score some points in this game, but that defense is going to be a big problem.
This San Francisco 49ers team is a favorite to win the Super Bowl for a reason, and they just don’t seem to have any flaws. San Francisco might struggle in the early parts of this game, but ultimately they are going to take complete control.
Bet on the 49ers to win this game and cover the 9.5-point betting spread as they roll to the NFC Championship Game.
