Week 16 of the NFL season will have games taking place on many different days, but the action will once again start on Thursday night. The New Orleans Saints will visit the Los Angeles Rams for a huge game in the NFC Playoff race.
New Orleans is coming into this game with some momentum as they have picked up two straight wins to get back to 7-7. Not only can the Saints get into the playoffs as a Wild Card team, but the NFC South is still there for the taking.
Los Angeles is coming into this game with a record of 7-7 as well, but their only path to the postseason is through the Wild Card. The Rams have won four of their last five games, and they are playing some terrific football.
The Los Angeles Rams are four-point betting favorites over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football.
Saints Struggling to Score
The New Orleans Saints have gotten back to 7-7 on the year, but at some point this team is going to have to find a way to score some more points. New Orleans is averaging just 22.1 points per game this season, and they have really struggled to take care of the football as well.
Alvin Kamara continues to be the best offensive player for this team as he has racked up 630 rushing yards and 446 receiving yards. The Saints need to get the ball into the hands of Kamara and hope that he can break through the defense.
This Saints team has been terrific on the defensive side of the ball this season as they are allowing just 19.1 points per game. New Orleans has a very aggressive defense, and they will be looking to come after Matthew Stafford in this game.
Rams Have to Defend
Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams are going to score some points, but they need the defense to pitch in as well. Los Angeles is averaging 23.4 points per game this season, but they are also giving up 22.1 points per game.
Stafford has thrown for 3,320 yards this season and Puka Nacua is leading the team with over 1,100 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Running back Kyren Williams is having a monster season as well as he has 953 yards and eight touchdowns.
The offense for the Rams tends to score in a hurry, but this team will need to extend some drives to give the defense a chance to catch their breath in this game.
Rams Roll on Thursday Night
New Orleans has been playing much better football of late, but they still have some work to do before they are one of the better teams in the league. The Saints should be able to find some offensive success in this game, but they aren’t going to be able to keep pace with the Rams.
Los Angeles just has so many weapons on offense, and they tend to play much better on their home field as well. This Rams team will look to be aggressive with the football, and that can create some issues for the Saints.
Bet the Los Angeles Rams at -4.0 as they are going to roll to a big win on Thursday Night Football.
