Road Dog New York Jets
The big story for the Jets will be the return of Aaron Rodgers under center. It was the first game a season ago where he was injured, and did not return for the rest of the season. Zach Wilson, Trevor Simian, and Tim Boyle all got chances but threw 15 interceptions and 11 touchdowns.
Rodgers’s top target will be Garrett Wilson. He has been sharp in his career and is coming into the season with over 1,000 yards. Wilson had three touchdown passes. Breece Hall is the other big threat in the offense. Despite being the running back, Hall led the team with four touchdown receptions.
The Jets will play their first two games on the road. Next week they are at the Titans. The first home game for the Jets is Thursday, September 19th at home against the New England Patriots.
Another Big Season in Store for San Francisco?
The 49ers drafted Ricky Pearsall 31st out of Florida, but he will not play for this game, or several of the first games. The 49ers have this home game and then will go on the road for back-to-back games at the Vikings and Rams. The next home game is September 29th against the Patriots.
Christian McCaffrey is the key name in the 49ers offense. The running back rushed for more than 1,400 yards and caught 564 yards. He finished the season with 21 touchdowns on the season. Brandon Aiyuk is limited in this game with nearly no preseason due to contract disputes.
George Kittle and Deebo Samuel are also great receiving options for the 49ers. They combined for over 1,900 yards and 13 touchdowns a season ago. Quarterback Brock Purdy is coming off a 31-touchdown, 11-interception season of a year ago.
49ers Smack Jets
The 49ers are going to win this game. No Super Bowl hangover for the 49ers. Look for the 49ers to be rude guests to the Jets from across the country. Aaron Rodgers comes back for the Jets but is not good enough to beat the 49ers. Our final bet for this game is the San Francisco 49ers -3.5 over the New York Jets.
