San Francisco 49ers at Tennessee Titans Betting Pick
The defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers will start their 2024 preseason action in Nashville. The 49ers will take on the Tennessee Titans on Saturday. San Francisco went 12-5 a season ago, and beat the Rams by two games in the NFC West. The 49ers lost their regular season finale, but won their two postseason games to reach the Super Bowl. Of course, that’s where they lost to Kansas City for the second time in three seasons.
For the Titans, they are looking for a big time bounce back season. Tennessee finished last in the AFC South with a 6-11 record last season. The Titans won their season finale, but still finished three games behind the Colts and Jaguars. Tennessee is once again one of the biggest underdogs to win the division in 2024.
The Titans are favorites in this game. Tennessee is listed at -5 over San Francisco on Saturday.
49ers still loaded with talent
Brock Purdy will remain the starting signal caller for the 49ers. Purdy has been strong in his career, but still looks to solidify the doubters. The 49ers drafted Ricky Pearsall, out of Florida, and there has been talks of trading Brandon Aiyuk.
The biggest key for the 49ers is their running back Christian McCaffrey. When healthy and available, he has been the best in the league. The former Stanford running back is ahead of Elijah Mitchell and Matt Brieda, and will get a majority of the carries all season.
Deebo Samuel and Juan Jennings round out the receiving core for the 49ers. George Kittle is back as one of the best tight ends in all of the league. The 49ers defensive core remains the same with Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw leading the way.
Underwhelming Tennessee Titans team
For the Titans, it will be a new look squad. Gone is legendary running back Derrick Henry. He was a workhorse in Nashville for years, so replacing his production is going to be a challenge. First up at the running back spot is former Cowboys athlete Tony Pollard.
Tyjae Spears dipped his toes in the league last season, and will be used as well. The receiving core for Tennessee is still strong. Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins and Tyler Boyd form a tremendous threesome, when healthy. The question remains in the quarterback position.
Can Will Levis make the jump and be that guy in Nashville? Will the Titans have to pivot to veteran Mason Rudolph or even Malik Willis as the season goes along? There are plenty of questions around the Titans that will be answered as the season gets going.
49ers Win on the Road
We like the San Francisco 49ers here. The 49ers do not know how to chill. Sure, this is a preseason game, but they are going to still play hard, and do things right, for the most part. Tennessee is still trying to figure out what they are going to do, and who is going to do them. We like the 49ers to not only cover the spread, but win this game outright. Our final bet for the game on Saturday is the San Francisco 49ers +195 over the Tennessee Titans. Enjoy the game and best of luck!
