Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys Pick for Thanksgiving Day

NFC East rivals are set to meet up on Thanksgiving Day as the Washington Commanders will visit the Dallas Cowboys. These are two great rivals in the NFL, but this game might not live up to those lofty standards.

Washington has struggled in a big way this season as they are bringing a 4-7 record into this game. The Commanders have lost four of their last five games, and they don’t have a ton to look forward to this season.

Dallas is coming into this game with a record of 7-3, and the Cowboys are trying to stay in the NFC East Division race. The Cowboys have won four of their last five games, and they continue to beat up on bad teams.

The Dallas Cowboys are 7.5-point betting favorites over the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving Day.

Washington Struggling to Win

The Washington Commanders have scored just 21.5 points per game this season, and they are allowing 27.7 points per game. There have been a number of issues this season for Washington, and it has caused them to get blown out a bit.

Quarterback Sam Howell has thrown for 3,038 yards this season, but he has also tossed 12 interceptions. Howell simply must find a way to take care of the football, but he is facing an extremely good defense.

The Commanders made some trades on the defensive side of the football, and that is going to impact their ability to get stops in this game. Washington will need to pressure Prescott if they intend to win this one.

Cowboys Can Really Score

The Dallas Cowboys come into this game averaging 30.2 points per game, and they have been finding offense from all over the field. Dallas has done a great job of passing the football this season, but they also tend to break off some big runs.

Quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown for 2,604 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, and he has completed over 70% of his passes. Things start and end with Prescott on the offensive side of the ball, but wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been great as well.

Cornerback Daron Bland has found the end one four times this season and he also leads the league with six interceptions. Dallas has been aggressive on offense, and the offense allows them to get that done.

Dallas Destroys Washington

Not only can the Dallas Cowboys score on the offensive side of the ball, but the defense has been scoring touchdowns as well. Dallas will be extremely aggressive on both sides of the ball in this game, and it’s hard to see Washington catching up.

Washington has some solid pieces to build around, but they are in no way in a position to start winning big games. The Commanders will struggle to move the football, and the offense isn’t going to have much success either.

Bet the Dallas Cowboys -7.5 over the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving as the home team is going to roll.
