The NHL Playoffs are really starting to heat up, and there is a massive Game 5 taking place on Wednesday night. The Vegas Golden Knights will be visiting the Dallas Stars and the winning team will take a 3-2 series lead.
Vegas is looking to win their second straight Stanley Cup Championship, and they got things started off in a big way in this series. The Golden Knights won each of the first two games of the series, but then gave that lead right back to the Stars.
Dallas is coming into this game with a ton of momentum after winning two straight games on the road. The Stars were the top seed in the Central Division this season, and they are on the short list of title contenders.
The Dallas Stars are moneyline betting favorites at -155 over the Vegas Golden Knights in this Game 5 on Wednesday night.
Vegas Needs Veterans to Lead
The Vegas Golden Knights have some proven winners on this team, and it’s going to be up to those players to set the tone in this game. Vegas has gotten three goals and three assists from Jack Eichel, but he is also going to need some help.
The Golden Knights have scored just two power play goals in the playoffs, and they need to do a better job of cashing in. Vegas has the potential to be a great offensive team, but that just hasn’t been the case through four games.
Goaltender Logan Thompson has stopped 92 percent of shots so far in this series, but he can’t do it alone. Vegas will need to find a way to give Thompson more help in order to keep the Stars from scoring.
Stars Taking Some Shots
After getting down 0-2 in this series, the Vegas Golden Knights have responded by being extremely aggressive on offense. Dallas averaged 3.59 goals per game during the regular season, and they have started to look like that team again.
Jason Robertson has four total points so far in the postseason, but he has actually started to get some help. If Dallas is able to get an early goal in this game then that momentum will carry them a long way.
Jake Oettinger has been solid in net for the Stars, especially over the last two contests. Oettinger and the defense will need to set the tone early in order to give the offense a chance to get going.
Stars Stay Red Hot
There have been a ton of huge momentum swings throughout this series, and it has been incredibly fun to watch. At some point a home team is going to win a game though, and that is what will happen on Wednesday night.
Both teams will be extremely desperate in this one, and that will actually lead to more scoring opportunities for each team. Vegas will do some scoring of their own, but it will be the Dallas Stars that come up with the biggest goals in this game.
Bet the Dallas Stars puck line at -1.5 as they are going to pick up an impressive win over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 action.
