Saturday March 7th Oklahoma at TCU Betting Pick
Oddsmakers Expecting a Close One in Ft. Worth
The Sooners are looking for a bounce back game heading into the March 7th Oklahoma at TCU betting pick. OU suffered a heartbreaking last-second loss to Texas on Tuesday in their home finale. Oklahoma would like to hand a similar fate to Texas Christian on Saturday afternoon.
The Horned Frogs are a 1-point home favorite in this one as they close out what has been a 14-4 season in Ft. Worth. The Sooners meanwhile are just 3-8 on the road. TCU has beaten #5 Baylor and #19 West Virginia in their last two home games so they definitely have value in this one.
Oklahoma Needs to Find Their Offense
The total for the March 7th Oklahoma at TCU betting pick is set at 132.5 which seems a bit on the high side the way the Sooners played on Tuesday. OU fell 51-52 to Texas the last time out shooting 14-50 from the field including 2-20 from three point range. Kristian Doolittle did have 20 points in the game but overall it was a bad offensive output from a team averaging 70 ppg.
The loss to the Longhorns was a tough one but ESPN’s Joe Lunardi still projects OU as a 10 seed. It was a good run before the loss to Texas for the Sooners as they took down both West Virginia and Texas Tech by double digits when the teams were both in the top 25.
The Sooners should still have confidence before Saturday’s tilt after they posted an 83-63 win over Texas Tech back at the end of January as -3 point favorites. Brady Manek went for 31 in that game to lead four OU players in double figures. TCU hasn’t scored a win in the series since 2017, a span of 5 straight Sooners wins.
Emotions Running High for TCU?
TCU wraps up the 2019/20 regular season at home. Desmond Bane needs just one three pointer to set the school record at 244 as he is currently in a tie for 1st. Bane was the leading scorer in the first meeting with OU this season – but with just 12 points.
Texas Christian does have an edge in this one being at home where they are 14-4 on the season. Since a 46-60 loss to Kansas at Schollmaier Arena, TCU has rattled off wins against Kansas State, Baylor, and West Virginia in Ft. Worth. The 5-game losing streak vs. Oklahoma does loom large here though.
Another reason why the total of 132.5 seems on the high side is because Texas Christian ranks 245th in the country in offensive efficiency and their 65.6 ppg is 314th.
March 7th Oklahoma at TCU Betting Pick
There is value on both teams in this one as TCU is at home but OU has a 5-game win streak in the series. The Sooners are likely tournament bound but know that one more conference win doesn’t hurt their cause at all. Then again, Oklahoma is just 3-8 on the road this season. OU was 20 points better than TCU at the end of January, that shouldn’t change just because of the location.
PIck: Oklahoma Sooners +1
