Sunday July 19th PGA The Memorial Tournament Final Round Betting
Jon Rahm's Tournament to Win Sunday
Barring a complete meltdown it’s looking like Jon Rahm is going to take home a win at Muirfield Village. Heading into the Memorial Tournament final round betting Rahm sits at -12, giving him a 4 stroke lead over Tony Finau and Ryan Palmer. Rahm is at -500 for live odds to win.
Of course there’s plenty of 2-ball matchups to look at for the Memorial Tournament final round betting. This will be the 8th round in two weeks for some golfers in Dublin, OH counting last weekend’s Workday Charity Open. That’s almost an unprecedented amount of golf data to devour.
Final Round Matchup: Jason Day (-115) vs. Tony Finau (-115)
Jason Day was a -130 favorite over Jordan Spieth in Saturday’s betting action, getting the 2 stroke win despite shooting even par. Day is now 5 under for the tournament, but 4 strokes back from Tony Finau. It was a +1 3rd round for Finau, who will have to be sharp in The Memorial Tournament final round betting to make up the 4 strokes he is back from Rahm.
This will be the 8th round at Muirfield Village for Day, who shot his best score on Sunday in last week’s Workday Charity Open (67). Finau is hitting just 38% of his fairways this weekend and could be fading with two double bogeys in the final 7 holes Saturday.
Pick: Day -115
Final Round Matchup: Henrik Norlander (-125) vs. Mackenzie Hughes (-105)
Henrik Norlander has bounced back from shooting a 74 on Thursday to a tie for 5th place at -5. He’s two strokes ahead of Mackenzie Hughes who has shot two rounds over par so far this weekend. Counting last week’s Workday Charity Open 75 on Sunday and par on Saturday, Hughes has now shot par or above in 4 of the last 5 rounds at Muirfield Village. That’s enough to steer clear.
Pick: Norlander -125
Final Round Matchup: Patrick Reed (+105) vs. Tiger Woods (-140)
Tiger Woods is battling coming into The Memorial Tournament final round betting as was expected playing his first PGA tournament since February. Woods comes into the final 18 holes at +2 thanks in no part to Friday’s 76. Patrick Reed sits at +1 as he was also 4 over par in round 2.
Reed shot 2 under last Sunday at Muirfield Village as he just squeezed into the top 40 at 39th. Woods battled some back stiffness on Friday and even though he looked better on Saturday you never know when that could be an issue in his first tournament back and meanwhile -140 is just too pricey.
Pick: Reed +105
Final Round Matchup: Justin Thomas (+110) vs. Rory McIlroy (-140)
One of the big name matchups for Sunday’s the Memorial tournament final round betting is Justin Thomas vs. Rory McIlroy. There seems to be some value on Thomas who is coming off a 2nd place finish last week at Muirfield Village, losing in a playoff to Collin Morikawa. Thomas shot sub 70 in all four rounds last week but has posted a 74 and a 75 in his three rounds as he sits at even.
McIlroy is 2 under in his first tournament since an 11th place finish at the Traveler’s on June 28th. McIlroy was even on Saturday after posting six birdies and six bogeys. Thomas couldn’t find the par 3’s yesterday posting two double bogeys on the back 9. This one really is a toss-up but Thomas could have the greater round in him having played the Sunday course last week.
Pick: Thomas +110
