Tuesday January 19th NCAAB Alabama at LSU Pick and Betting Preview
Crimson Tide Looks for 8th Straight Win
There looks to be value on both teams heading into the NCAAB Alabama at LSU pick. The #18 Crimson Tide roll into Baton Rouge on a 7-game win streak, but the Tigers are at home riding a run of four consecutive wins of their own. Oddsmakers are expecting a battle, with Alabama just a -1 favorite.
Alabama has scored 84+ in four straight games, but they run into the #1 offense in the SEC and 10th in the country at LSU on Tuesday. The teams split last season each getting a victory at home. LSU won 90-76 while Alabama returned the favor 88-82 in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama On an Impressive Run
One would think the NCAAB Alabama at LSU pick would be a very high scoring one with two of the top three offenses in the SEC, and the betting total is 164.5. A wager on the Crimson Tide isn’t a bad one, as their last two wins have come 85-65 at Kentucky and 90-59 at home vs. Arkansas on Saturday as -2.5 favorites.
The thing about Alabama’s winning streak is that it has come against fairly decent competition. The Crimson Tide have been favored by more than 4 points just twice on their 7-game run, and also scored a 71-63 win at Tennessee as +10.5 underdogs.
LSU knows who their go-to scorer is, but Alabama has a lot of balance with four players averaging at least 12 points/game. There’s only been two 20+ games from Alabama’s top four scorers over the last four games (John Petty, Jr. 23, Jahvon Quinerly 24) and they’ve still averaged 88.7 over that span.
LSU Locked and Loaded
LSU as a home underdog is pretty appealing as well, as the Tigers are in every game with the #10 scoring offense in the country. You never know what LSU team you’re going to get as evidenced by an OT win over Georgia as -8 favorites and an 85-80 home win over South Carolina as -7 favorites over the last four games.
When the Tigers are good, they’re really good though including a 75-61 win at Ole Miss as +2.5 dogs and shellacking Arkansas 92-76 as -1 favorites all during this four game win streak. LSU gets up for big games, and Tuesday’s tilt definitely fits that bill.
There’s worse players to put your wager behind than LSU’s Cam Thomas, the leading scorer in the SEC at 22.1 ppg. The fabulous freshman has 25+ in 5 of his last 6, but he gets some help too. Like Alabama, LSU has four players putting up at least a dozen most of them with more big game potential. Trenton Watford has 20+ in four of the last five, Javonte Smart had 20+ in the first two games of the 2021 calendar year, and Darius Days has 15+ in two of the last three.
Free NCAAB Alabama at LSU Pick
The betting public are giving a slight lean towards LSU, and they will have the best player on the court tonight. Alabama has beaten some quality teams en route to their 7-0 record, but LSU has deep scoring beyond Thomas. The Tigers are 8-0 at home this season, and should be able to push that to 9-0 somewhat easily.
