Sports leagues around the world are coming back at a sloth-like pace in wake of the shutdown for the Coronavirus pandemic. Besides international leagues giving it a go, the NBA gets into the mix with a h-o-r-s-e competition starting this Sunday. Here is the rundown for the best sports wagers for Sunday April 12th.
Soccer – Belarus Vysshaya Liga
FC Minsk (+260) vs. BATE Borisov (+105) O2.5 7:00 AM
Minsk has great value in this matchup being at home and in 5th place in the Belarus Premier League table. Minsk rattled off 3 goals in each of their last two games before being shut out by Energtyk last time out. BATE has scored just 3 goals total in their last 4 games but has won 3 of the last 4 in the H2H series.
Update: BATE makes it 4 wins in the last 5 vs. Minsk as they cruise to a 3-0 victory.
Smolevichi STI (+475) vs. Shakhtyor Soligorsk (-170) O2 9:00 AM
Anything can happen in this matchup of 10th place Shakhtyor and 15th ranked Smolevichi. It never hurts to bet against Smolevichi right now as they have netted a total of 1 goal in their last 4 games. Then again, Shakhtyor has also been shut out in 3 of their last 4. This is one of those games that looks like it should be low scoring but ends up 3-2. Liking the ‘over’ here.
Update: This contest was indeed as low scoring as you can get, ending 0-0.
Dinamo Brest (-145) vs. Isloch Minsk (+360) O2.5 11:00 AM
Dinamo Brest is showing signs of breaking out of their championship hangover after a 2-0 win over Shakhtyor last time out. Brest still has just 4 points on the year though as they sit in 11th place in the table. Isloch had been playing some of the best defense in the league in allowing 0 scores in their first four games before falling 2-3 to Slutsk last Sunday. Brest should eek one out.
Update: Brest continues to surge with a 3-1 victory.
Reserves
Slavia Mozyr (+140) vs. Rukh Brest (+135) O3.5 8:00 AM
There’s great value on Rukh Brest in this one as they’ve posted two straight wins by a combined score of 7-1. Brest is in 5th in the reserve league table while Slavia is in a free fall having lost 3 of 4 while allowing at least 2 goals in each of those games.
Update: Ruh Brest was able to score a 2-0 win in a very low scoring affair.
Basketball – Taiwan Championship
Jiutai (+4.5) vs. Bank of Taiwan O 170.5 3:00 AM
Jiutai Technology has shown the ability to put up some points lately going for 92+ points in 3 of their last 4. That makes the ‘over’ look like a solid play in this one but then again Bank of Taiwan is just 3-8 over their last 11. Bank of Taiwan has also won 5 straight in the series, most recently 89-77 at the end of March.
Update: Jiutai continued their offensive surge in scoring the 124-113 victory.
Taiwan Beer (-2.5) vs. Yulon Luxgen Dinos O 164.5 5:00 AM
Taiwan Beer is assuredly heavily bet on in this matchup as they bring a 4-game win streak into Sunday’s game. Taiwan Beer is in 1st place in the Super Basketball League standings at 24-7 while Yulon Luxgen is in 3rd but at just 16-15. Taiwan Beer has rattled off wins in 13 of their last 15 and the -2.5 seems like a gift here.
Update:This contest was not the trap that it appeared to be as Taiwan Beer notched the 77-73 W.
League of Legends North American Championship Playoffs
Team Solomid (-223) vs. Flyquest (+155) 4:00 PM ESPN2
If you’re looking for something to do on Sunday afternoon, the TSM vs. FlyQuest match promises to be interesting. The lean here would be to take FlyQuest as the ‘dogs for a better ROI basically because this game is nothing more than a toss up.
FlyQuest (10-8) and Team Solomid (9-9) have both shown to be very dysfunctional in the Spring playoffs. Team Solomid lost in a head-to-head battle in week 4 but in a clash that took 48 minutes. TSM then went on to a convincing win in week 7. TSM has the upside ad FlyQuest by all means is a more consistent team. The +155 ROI is too much to pass on here.
Update: Flyquest did end up having the value here as they scored the 3-2 victory.
