We’ve got the 2017 Heisman Trophy futures for you. It’s interesting to note that the Big Ten, a conference that has had just one finalist in the Heisman race, Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers in 2016, has numerous players who look to be contenders.
Heisman Contenders for 2017
Three Big Ten players are among the early favorites in 2017 Heisman Trophy futures. The player with the second-best odds is Ohio State quarterback at 10-1. Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield is one step ahead of Barrett with his odds at 7-1. Those are the best Heisman odds and they are given to two other players.
Also at 7-1 is 2016 Heisman winner Louisville QB Lamar Jackson (ACC). Another ACC player, Florida State QB Deondre Francois, is at 12-1. USC QB Sam Darnold, who’s seen as being able to elevate the Trojans greatly, perhaps getting into the playoff mix for the national championship, is at 7-1 too.
Darnold is not the only Pac-12 player who has good odds. Washington quarterback Jake Browning is at 12-1. Penn State, a Big Ten school, has running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Trace McSorley on the list. Barkley is 15-1 and McSorely 20-1. Alabama QB Jalen Hurts (SEC) is at 15-1.
