YouWager Sportsbook
YouWager.eu is a very highly rated sportsbook that has had its foot in the door of the industry since 1999. To be honest, they’re somewhat of an under-the-radar sports betting site but maybe that’s how they choose to roll. The site is legitimate – it is licensed in San Jose Costa Rica.
YouWager.eu is open to all countries and accepts bitcoin deposits which provide for relative anonymity when betting. You do need an email address and password to sign up, but no credit card information. They also request that you put your name and address in to complete registration, but it’s your call if you want to be “John Smith from 123 Main Street” if you’re going to deposit via bitcoin.
Design & Features
Nothing is going to really jump out at you in terms of site design – but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily inferior. Once you register, the home page consists of your account info (balance, pending games, loyalty points, free play balance) and the options for straight bets, teasers, parlays, etc. on top and a list of upcoming live games on the right. It’s a simple layout, but it’s sufficient.
Most of the cool features fall in the different types of bets you can make. Obviously, there are going to be multiple teasers, pleasers, and parlays that every reputable book offers these days. Youwager.eu does feature the increasingly popular “if” bet, where you can place wagers ahead of time using money, won “if” other bets succeed. The site is also mobile-friendly for access on a tablet or Smartphone.
-Build a Prop Bet Feature
Something very innovative that YouWager offers is their build a prop bet feature. It takes a bit to figure out, but what you can basically do is create your own prop bets between single players or in head-to-head matchups. It’s not free money where you can build the prop “Tom Brady will have more passing yards than Mike Glennon” for +500. Each selection has built-in odds that you adjust and not every player becomes available to insert into the prop. The build-a-prop feature works a lot like ESPN’s NBA Trade Machine – you have to do some finagling to get it to accept your choices.
-Casino and Other Features
Make no mistake, YouWager is first, foremost, and most importantly a sportsbook. That being said they do offer some other betting options including a casino, poker, and horses. You’re never going to mistake the graphics in the casino or on the slots with Call of Duty or Halo, but it is a nice reprieve when you need a break from studying spreads and totals.
Betting Markets
In the past YouWager.eu was very much geared solely towards North American sports and leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc. They are still very focused on allowing betting on everything to do with these events, but have also added a very prominent International slate of games, specifically soccer.
If you want action at any and all times no matter where you live, YouWager likely has a live bet waiting for you in soccer or tennis. On a Saturday in October they had 133 live events scheduled which show their reach. Betting markets also include eSports and the site is very devoted to offering lines on MMA and boxing matches – even undercards.
Not only are there a wide variety of markets available, but the number of bets available within each game is also astounding. Take a random early season NBA game for example where you can place a wager on:
- Combined final score odd or even
- First team to score
- Who will be winning at half & who will be winning at the end (half time / full time)
- Highest scoring quarter
- First to 10 points
- First to 50 points
- Team with highest scoring quarter
- Winning margin block (1-3 points, 4-7 points, etc.)
Support Team
The support from YouWager.eu is very extensive – in fact, one of the complaints in the past was that they were too over-the-top. Most of that had to do with cold-calling and solicitation but either way the support team is prevalent by email, live chat, and phone. You could even contact them on their Twitter account and it’s a good resource to see what other customers are saying about the sportsbook.
YouWager Bonuses & Promotions
Of course, no overview of a sportsbook would be complete without seeing how much money they give you to play. As for the sign-up bonus at YouWager has upped the ante to a 100% free play up to $1,000. This is considerable to note because it used to be just a 50% match and only up to a $300 deposit ($150 bonus). The ‘new’ bonus does require a 15X rollover. The site has also added a 15% reload on deposits under $500 and 20% if putting over $500 into your account.
YouWager really is jam-packed with additional promotions. The promos are quite the variety too and include a bad beat special where if you lose two games by ½ a point in a month you get your money back. There’s also a ‘can’t lose’ bet where if you create a prop in their custom prop machine and lose you get a refund. There are pools and contests such as NFL survivor and NCAA brackets as well as year-long handicapping contests. YouWager even offers $25 free plays for certain eSports events.
Deposits, Withdrawals, and Betting Limits
Deposits can be made by Bitcoin, gift cards, credit cards, cash, and bank wire. Payouts are accepted in a money transfer, paper checks, or by bitcoin. Betting limits can go as high as $10,000 for the NFL spread but are somewhat low at $3,000 to $5,000 for other major sports. YouWager does allow you to raise betting limits as you advance in their loyalty club.
YouWager.eu Summary
In truth, there’s really not much to be disappointed in with YouWager.eu. They seemed to have fixed the cold calling and slow pay issues that were prevalent in 2005/06. Other than that the site is easy to navigate, they offer a boatload of sports to wager on, they accept bitcoin, provide great promotions, are mobile-friendly, and have an established reputation after being around for nearly 20 years. That’s all bettors really want anymore – besides for their wagers to win, that is.
