The 2017 college football season comes to a close for both Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan on Tuesday night as neither team has become bowl eligible. Oddsmakers have made the 4-7 Eastern Michigan Eagles two TD favorites against the visiting Bowling Green Falcons in the 11/21 college football free pick. Does Bowling Green show up mentally for this game?
Is Taking the Points the Correct Bet?
It takes some guts to side with Bowling Green in the 11/21 college football free pick as they’ve dropped four of their last five games. Not only are the Falcons losing, they’re dropping games big with the closest margin of defeat over that span being 10 points. However, Bowling Green isn’t an automatic write off in tonight’s matchup – they did topple Kent State 44-16 three games ago although the Falcons were road favorites in that tilt.
Most of Bowling Green’s struggles have come on the defensive side of the ball this season – although their offense isn’t exactly great. The Falcons D is 3rd worst in the nation allowing an insane 519 yards per game. That tally includes giving up 265 yards through the air and 254 on the ground. Bowling Green has their work cut out for them against the #33 Eastern Michigan passing offense that throws for nearly 270 yards per game.
Eastern Michigan Have One More Blowout Win In Them?
Eastern Michigan has won two of the last three games and their offense has been clicking. EMU has scored 27+ in four straight games and the last time they were at home was a 56-14 win over Ball State three games ago. The Eagles are much better than their record indicates to when you consider a 15-20 loss to 9-2 Toledo, a four point loss at Kentucky, a one point loss at Army, and back-to-back OT defeats to Western Michigan and Northern Illinois.
For EMU to get the win, QB Brogan Roback needs to limit his turnovers after a five interception outing two games ago. Other than throwing picks, Roback has been solid tossing for 260+ yards in four of the past five games. There’s success to be had against the #127 Bowling Green defense but the Falcons may not need much offense at all in the 11/21 college football free pick. EMU’s #32 defense is up against a Bowling Green squad that is 87th in the country in total offense, including 92nd in points scored

11/21 College Football Free Pick Betting
Although 13.5 is a lot of points, Eastern Michigan should be able to handle the number easily. The Eagles offense is better and the EMU defense should limit Bowling Green to minimal opportunities. Bowling Green lost this matchup 25-28 at home last year as -2.5 favorites, and the result is going to be even worse this year on the road.
Pick: Eastern Michigan Eagles -13.5
