Tuesday March 10th Magic at Grizzlies Betting Prediction
Memphis Just a -2.5 Favorite Here Despite Recent Success
The public is liking the home team in the March 10th Magic at Grizzlies betting predication. 80% of bettors appear to be on Memphis and for good reason as they are just -2.5 home favorites. The next question is why is that line so low even though the Grizzlies have won 4 of their last 5 and are playing some of their best defense of the season right now?
The Magic were able to snap a three game losing streak with back-to-back wins over Memphis and Houston. Sunday’s 126-106 win over the Rockets was definitely impressive as +7.5 underdogs although Houston was playing on leg two of the back-to-back.
Big Game for Both Squads
Each team is an 8 seed in their respective conference coming into the March 10th Magic at Grizzlies betting prediction. Orlando would need a pretty big meltdown to lose their 6.5 game lead over Washington but Memphis looks to be in a dog fight. 5 teams are within 6 games of the Grizzlies for the final spot in the West.
The Magic have found their offense in the last two games, scoring 132 in the win over Minnesota and 126 vs. Houston. Orlando seems to like the up temp games vs. the #1 and #5 teams in pace but Memphis is right up their at 6th in possessions per game. The Magic have also put up those numbers without Evan Fournier and his 18.8 ppg as he injured is elbow and missed both wins.
Orlando’s surging offense has a tough test against a tough Memphis defense in this meeting. It’s Orlando’s own defense that is also facing some questions after allowing 118+ points in 6 of the last 9. The defense looked good against the Rockets last game, but Houston was also fatigued on 0 days rest.
Grizzlies Defense Too Much Tonight?
Memphis has really stepped up their defense heading into the March 10th Magic at Grizzlies betting prediction.Over the last 6 games, all but Dallas has been held below 105 points by the Memphis defense. That includes the Lakers and Atlanta being held to 88 and the Nets 79 points over that span.
The Grizzlies have the #14 defense vs. the C which should help to keep Nikola Vucevic in check on Tuesday. Memphis does rank 26th vs. the PF though which may mean a big night for Aaron Gordon. Orlando meanwhile ranks in the top 12 vs. the PG which could stifle Ja Morant a bit but are also tops defensively vs. the C position.
Memphis has actually been riding their post play to some success lately as Jonas Valanciunas has a double – double in 6 of 7 games including 27/17 last time out vs. the Hawks. The Grizzlies have gone an OK 18-14 at home this season and have gone 6-1 ATS their last 7 at the FedExForum. Something has to give though as the Magic are 6-0 ATS their last 6 on the road.
March 10th Magic at Grizzlies Betting Prediction
It would be easy to like Memphis here as just -2.5 favorites at home and in a revenge spot after losing 118-86 to Orlando at the start of the season. That line is screaming trap though as way to low. Orlando matches up well here at the C position and is solid vs. the back court too – both of the Grizzlies’ strengths.
Pick: Orlando Magic +2.5
